INFANTS: 6 weeks - 18 months
This is a child’s first experience in school without a parent and therefore, our first goal is to transition the child from home to the school environment with people who will love, guide, respect, and care for them. We help the children verbalize their feelings and to use language to express their thoughts and ideas. We encourage physical activities that will continue the development of large muscles to help the children walk, run, balance and climb. We provide creative activities with art, blocks, dramatic play and music that help to develop their senses, their imagination and the skills necessary to build a foundation for future learning. We encourage exploration of the world around us through activities involving nature, the senses, size, shape, color and numbers. We guide our little learners through new social experiences and introduce them to the important concepts needed to be successful in a classroom. We support these little learners in their quest for independence and with learning to deal with positive experiences as well as frustration. We encourage problem solving using conflict resolution and conversation.
